Opening of the Facility by Mr Ray Clemence M.B.E
Official Unveiling of the Football Centre
30th November 2007
The opening ceremony began at 1.30 pm when Ray Clemmence arrived at the gates of Balby Carr. The tour of the
sports college began at 2 pm with the guests viewing a variety of sporting activities around the collage. At around 2.30
Ray and the other guests of the opening day followed the 2 college ambassadors, Samuel Collins and Aaron Gill down
to the 3G pitch .Once they arrived there was a gathering around the
main gate to the 3G where both the headteacher
(Martin Craig) and Ray delivered their speaches. After which the ribbon was cut and
the Football complex was opened at 3 pm.
Mr Craig then gave a speach about the
facilitiy, the school and how far the school
has come. Mr Clemmence then made a
few comments before completing the
most important task of cutting the ribbon
without dropping the siccors!
Ray receives a plaque presented from the pupils of
Balbycarr Sports College courtesy of majestic sports
and trophies
Sheffield & Hallamshire FA represented the county of
South Yorkshire as Keith Old hands the plaque to Bil
l Cahill who was insturmental in the bid to pass to Ray
Clemence.
